surprised by bad reviews. good arch support. has lasted over 8 months so far; no signs of imminent failure. takes a little getting used to, but then they're great!! ordered more.

Nice While They Lasted

But broke within less than two years under light use, where the straps connect to the footbed, on both shoes. Also, they were very slippery when wet, and I feel like someone could roll an ankle in these pretty easily.

Recommended sizing is perfect, very comfortable

I normally wear a men's 8.5 shoe (sometimes 8 depending on the fit). Based on reviews that claimed the shoe sizing was tight, I ordered one size up (LL) and it was way too big. I then ordered the recommended size (L). Size L is perfect, and is very ample and comfortable for my feet.

Btw this shoe has the best and most solid support of the Okabashi shoes I've tried. The heel is solid, whereas the heel on the Milan and Weave is hollowed out and creates more softness and springiness than I'd prefer for standing. The arch on this shoe (the Glide) is also more pronounced than the others. If you like solid shoes with lots of support, this is the one for you.

Comfort, but not durable at all, Won't last 5 mo.

I have been looking for sandals with enough arch support at reasonable price for a long time. Having arch support would greatly help pronation on feet.

Although it is sandal, I use it only for indoor as slipper. Upon receiving it, and first initial wear for the first week, it feel comfortable even for my big feet. Comfort in both arch support section, front and heel is good.

I was happy and even recommended to my friends and family. However, things change after 2 months. I started to aware that the bands on the sandals had little crack. It is like the rubber is too hard and dry, it cannot sustain the blending movement of the feet.

As time passes, it finally fully break, and I cannot wear it anymore. Now, I will have to do the return and exchange with the company. Although the customer service girl sounds nice and polite, it is bad to hear that customer will need to pay for return shipping. That's roughly the same cost of purchasing a new pair.

heavy, wrong size

Agree with one of the reviewer - wrong sizes.

Men size LL supposed to be 9-10 (accoring to their Size Guide) - WRONG. I usually wear 8-8.5. I've ordered bigger size just to easily jump in. But I can hardly put my feet into.

Also from description: "The Glide brings a new level of relief after a long day on your feet. " They are too heavy to provide "relief after a long day on your feet"
But you can "Toss them in your gym bag ..." and use as feet weight exercise device.

size problems

I ordered several Okabashi shoes LL mens and two out of the 3 pairs fit fine, however this glide I can not even get on my foot. I have a high arch and the opening is to small to allow me to insert my foot into the shoe. I love the look of the shoe just can't' wear it. The cost was Economical so returning it would not be cost effective because of P&H The two other styles are fine and comforable. This makes me really sad I like the look, and a bigger size would probably only be too long. If you have wide high arched feet check out other styles. A flat narrower foot may like wearing this style.

Good fit though I prefer the Milan model

I am particular about my footwear after I developed plantar fasciitis, caused by poor supporting footwear. I replaced all my footwear with items that had excellent arch support & bought Spenco orthotics for my slippers. That solved my plantar fasciitis in ~6 months, though I must always wear footwear with good arch support so no barefeet for me, or I will feel the "discomfoot" that tells me the plantar fasciitis could come back. This brand, in the Glide model, work ok for me. They fit fairly tightly though they are comfortable. I also have the Milan style & I am more satisfied with those. The shape of the Milan footbed allows your foot to "bed" itself whereas with the Glide model your foot feels like it is in the sandal though not engaged. I could go up a size in the Glide model though I don't believe it would provide a better fit, just a looser fit.
