Doesn't hold a candle to Cleo

I had to replace my tearing wheat/off-white colored Cleos which I have been wearing and loving for nine years. I wanted the same color, because it goes with so many of my clothes and is very versatile. It was no longer available, so I bought these in white, thinking that the only difference was the 6 cross-straps vs the 7 in the Cleo.
I was wrong... these do not fit as well: the straps are placed farther back on the shoe, and my high instep prevents my toes from going far enough forward. The toe of the shoe is squared-off, not tapered like the Cleo. I tried to change the color by soaking them in strong coffee, but they would not take on the stain (good news if you want bright white shoes!). They are overall not as attractive or comfortable as the Cleo. I am making-do, but am not happy.

I have worn the Sienna style for five plus years and love the look, wearability , and endurance. I started with the wheat color which i found to be attractive with all styles and colors . It was, sadly, discontinued and can only be sporadically found on secondary sites, such as eBay but never in my size. The remaining colors, black and dark brown, seem too harsh for lighter colored outfits and white has limited seasonal wear. PLEASE bring back the wheat color.

Miss the Cleo!

I have many foot problems as a result of polio. Okabashi's Cleo has been like a miracle for me. When I found out how very, very comfortable they are for my small, but wide foot, I bought several pairs in each color. Sadly they are wearing out after years of faithful, comfortable service. I join the chorus of other customers who are asking you to bring back the Cleo!!! It was more attractive and more comfortable. The wider space between the straps on the Sienna allow the little toe to stick out. The Cleo had a higher heel which was great for me as my left foot has a fused ankle. The Cleo was perfect. I have to pay my cobbler to build up the heel on the Sienna, which more than doubles the price of the shoe. Even for folks who don't have that problem, the higher heel looked dressier. I wear my old Cleos with socks in the winter. I wear them in the shower, the pool, and the ocean. They are the only shoes that I can walk in without pain. BRING BACK THE CLEO, PLEASE!!

Size Issue

I had been given a pair in a size small and loved them! But I actually wear a size 6.5 shoe, so I emailed Okabashi asking if I should get another Small (as I was ordering another pair) or a Medium. The small fit me but was just a tad tight. I was told I should get the Medium and that it is 1/2 longer and only 1/8 inch wider. I did just that...got them today and they are too big for me! I can't walk in them without it feeling like they are going to fall off! To return them would cost too much so I will give them to someone who can wear them.

Best sandals ever!

I found these sandals at CVS and bought them completely out of convenience and price. Little did I know that they would be the most comfortable "go to" sandals in my closet. I live in FL, so sandals are worn often and I have a bunion and also was experiencing plantar fasciatis flare-ups for months. These sandals cured my plantar fasciatis and they are comfortable for the bunion. I went back to CVS but there were only big sizes, so I searched online to get a second pair in small.

I have been wearing Okabashi shoes for over
20 years! They are so easy to clean. I just use an old toothbrush and wash them with soap and water and put them outside to dry in the sun. It is faster than using the dishwasher and less wear and tear.
The white ones will also stay white this way.
In the beginning there were more colors for the Cleo. I agree that it felt more comfortable than the Sienna, but the Sienna looks nicer. They are the only shoes I can wear in the summer. Please make more colors in this style. We know you can because the other styles have a bunch of choices. I bought a pair of red Sienna's a few years ago, but only see the 3 basic colors now. Sometimes the Wheat is listed, but normally it is out of stock!

Did not replace the Cleo

I loved the Cleo sandal and bought many, many pairs after broken ankle. When you stopped making them and introduced the Sienna, I tried them. Didn't like them because the spacing between the straps is too big and unless you wear socks, the little toe slips through and who wants to wear socks with sandals ? Now,a few years later, I am still searching for a replacement to the Cleo shoe. So I tried the Sienna once again...... now I have a broken small toe. Bring back the old Cleo which had smaller spaces between the straps and I believe they were also a bit narrower too. I need a sandal with a one inch heal because of the ankle/leg surgery and prefer the style of the Cleo and Sienna. Please, either bring back the Cleo or fix the Sienna with less spacing between the straps. By the way, I am not a skinny person, my shoe size is the M-L, and usually buy shoes that are wide.

I have been wearing these shoes for a few years around the house. They provide great arch support and I can't walk barefoot anymore. They are great to wear outside because you can wash them off. Great to wear after playing a sport and you want to wear sandals after having hot tennis shoes on. I recommend these shoes. I wish Okabashi would make another line with higher heels too.
