found it, Nice

I've found the right size of Okabashi shoe. It took a few tries. I recently purchased a pair of the model Torino. Probably since it is the right size, it is one of my favorite shoes to wear. It is not the best looking, but I can't complain. I hope to get another style pair in the right size.

I love Okabashi shoes for the comfort and simplicity.

Many Women Have Larger Feet!
May 11, 2014

I love this sandal! As soon as I return home, I rush to change into these sandals. I wear them constantly around the house and every so often, I wear them in public. However, the big problem is I wear size 11 shoe. I am a woman. You stop at size 10.5 for women - which is way too small for me. Please consider making larger sizes for women. You have some pretty styles I would love to try, but can't because you don't make them in my size. There are several women in the world who have feet larger than 10.5! We like our feet to look nice too. We should not have to wear men's shoes. I really don't understand why you don't have more choices for women. Note also, the men's LL is too small, the XL is too big, but I kept the XL, that's what I currently have on. I really hope you make a larger women's size selection.

Bitterly disappointed

I really wanted to like these, but they were just unwearable. I got the LL (Men's 9.0-10.0), which should have been right on the money as I wear a 9 1/2 running shoe and 9 workboot. Yet the sandal rubbed terribly on my fifth toes and also stuck out significantly in back. The right sandal also turned out, causing my heel to strike the inside edge on every step. I tried wearing them in tighter and looser positions but nothing worked. Support and shock absorption were nonexistent; even walking in grass jarred like bare feet against concrete, and the inner texturing just irritated my soles. The sole of the sandal seemed to have good traction, but the inside canceled that out by slipping badly. Ultimately, I couldn't even walk a block in them without giving up. At least the sandals seemed durable and easy to clean, and I like that they are recyclable and not made with foreign sweatshop labor, but they simply did not work for my feet.

Not what they used to be

They're still very comfortable, but that doesn't make up for how long they last. They're way too expensive to last only a few months. I've been wearing the Torinos for the better part of two decades. I used to get well over a year's wear out of a pair. Now I don't even get six month. More like four months. This probably has to do with Okabashi now using recycled materials. Good for the environment, but not so good for the consumer. Very disappointing. Buyer beware!

Great service that I felt compelled to write a review

I want to write this review to thank Tonya Franklin. I used to have the simple slide style Okabashis and they lasted forever. However, the perforations on the basket-weave style, while good for ventilation, is also a weak point where the sandal would tear. I e-mailed my trouble to Okabashi, and it was taken care of [e-mail to new sandals arriving in the mail] in a matter of days - Tonya was even willing to swap me with the old style I wanted which was not available at the store! That's great service that listens to their clients.

I find the Torino very comfortable but unfortunately I had the top tear badly after only one season. I have worn Okabashi for decades and this is the first time this has happened to me. Am going to try to exchange them for the traditional weaves.

I discovered these shoes when I was 17 and I have not found anything better to put on my feet as everyday shoes in 19 over years. THANK YOU SO MUCH OKABASHI!

I bought mi first pair about 2 years ago. Now I have look trough 8 Walgreen's Stores but haven't found them yet. It's an outstanding product and, more over, environment friendly. They feel excellent on my feet.

Had to find online!

I have worn out two pairs of Okabashi sandles this Summer! Our local chain drug store didn't get their usual supply this year, and I had to go online to find some!
The only complaint, is the RV park we are staying in has gravel driveways, and small rocks get wedged in the soles. Other than that, it has been the only shoe I have worn for over a year. Great when it is raining and I have to take the dogs out, rubber doesn't stay wet! Thanks for the wonderful shoes!

I purchased these shoes on a whim not knowing if they would be comfortable or not. I have a very flat foot. I generally don't like shoes at all...LOL However, these sandals are very comfortable and surprisingly they don't make my feet sweat. I wear them a lot and that says a lot for me...LOL
