Okabashi Sandals Rock!
August 14, 2015
Reviewer:  Ky Mama

My pink slides have now taken me through two summers, with a lot of walking and a lot of compliments-they are very cute! I also own a pair of cross-strap slides, which are very comfortable and I would recommend those, too. My previous pair of slides tore after 10 years, so they are clearly worth the money.

One reviewer mentioned the comparative loose fit of the wave compared with the cross-strap slide. I own size medium in both kinds, and I have to agree that the fit of the wave can seem a little loose sometimes. However, I have fairly slim feet, and the designers probably designed the shoe to work well for most feet. Maybe a narrow size option would be good to have in this style.

Not a flip flop, yea

Having just reading several negative reviews I wanted to post a positive one. My white Waves(not so white now) are going into the 3rd summer. They are my every day in house/garden sandal. They are the only Okabashi shoe I have bought. Yes, they were a little snug at first, but stretched just enough after a few wearings. For as inexpensive as these sandals are they are truly a bargain. The only reason I haven't ordered other sandals is most of the cute colorful ones are flip flops which I don't wear.

Love style but strap too wide- can not walk in them

I love Okabashi sandals, been wearing them for over 10 yearS! They become part of my feet as soon as the weather gets warm. walking, yard work, music festivals- don't wear anything else- ALL SUMMER.
Once went in mud up to my ankles and lost one- went back the next morning and had all my friends help me find it- (they know) Hosed it off- cleans up like new! Back on rest of summer.

Always bought Cross Straps before ML
Wanted to change it up and try different style/ color

Thought the wave would fit the same and be just as comfortable - looked dressier.

Tried on- fit Ok -felt the same at first- bottoms are the same molded arch - but CAN NOT Walk IN THEM!

Toes slide forward and slip over the front of the sandal. Not safe to walk in!

Will go back to Cross straps- hope they will make refinements in wave's design (need same strap width as cross straps please!)

Not long lasting

2 years warranty is great but do not expect shoe to last longer than 1 year. I wear them only in the house (light walking) and both pairs started ripping on the top and also on the side. That made the shoe very dangerous for tripping.
One broke right away so they kindly exchange and 2nd pair started ripping in a different way. I have given them as gifts and the complaints were same-RIPS Easily!!! The M size tend to run too big for a Sze 7 feet.

Wave sandals

Too Narrow/tight, heavy, and the mark on the inner foot bed is breakable and sharply hurts the foot and it shouldn't be there. The quality of the material is really good because your foot doesn't sweat in it, only the construction has problem. We hope they consider making wider width with adjustable straps and no breakable marking on the foot bed.

Fit Problem

I wear a 9-1/2 and ordered the Large in this style. It is a very cute shoe, but it is way too wide and my feet slide out the front when I try and walk in the shoes! You would have to have a true "wide" foot for these to work, in my opinion. Overall length seems to be accurate.

Not a good fit

I love all my Okabashi sandals, but this is the first purchase I am disappointed with. The fit is too narrow for me and therefore, much too uncomfortable to wear. Sigh...

When we went to Oahu, I walked with these for 2 miles without any problems, these are very comfortable. After walking for 2 miles, these still look the same. I ordered different style this time from Okabashi and I will try to walk with them to see the difference.

Out of three styles, this is not a good one.

I have the Pacific and the Cross Strap which are good shoes but the Wave just does not fit right. It's too wide, too long, cuts into my foot. Not happy with and it's probably not worth to ship it back.

I bought my first Cross strap in a store and then subsequently on line and it was okay but I think the quality of the 2nd one was inferior to the original one i bought. Maybe it was a cheaper quality? But it was okay.

The Wave is just not a good shoe.

Not wide enough for wide feet

I just received these with a couple of other styles. They had been reviewed by another customer as one of the wider footbeds made by Okabashi. I was barely able to get my foot into the shoe and had to walk my toes gradually up toward the toe. I don't know whether the front piece will stretch at all with use or whether I need to return these. I like the look of the design, but the fact that they are not at all adjustable makes the wide plastic top a fit problem. The styles with narrower top pieces seem to be more fit-forgiving.
