Dear Okabashi Enthusiast,
The theme for Earth Day this year is: End Plastic Pollution. The thought of well-loved flip flops and sandals ending up in a landfill or in a floating plastic island in the ocean breaks our hearts.
Every Okabashi shoe is recyclable and eco-friendly. We are proud to do our part in reducing plastic pollution with our closed loop recycling process.
Scrap material and shoes are sorted by color and ground up
Regrind is added to new material and color concentrate
The average pair of Third Oak shoes contains 15-25% recycled material
All our shoes may be recycled by putting them into a #3 bin or sending them back to our factory
Thank you for supporting responsibly made shoes. Every pair counts, and we hope they bring you joy!
From our family to yours,
Okabashi shoes have been manufactured in Buford, Georgia since 1984. We are proud to be part of the less than 1% of shoes that are still made in the USA.
