Our Favorite Things To Do in Georgia in the Fall
Here at Okabashi, we love exploring our local communities and surrounding nature. Georgia is a beautiful place to be in the fall, the summer heat is (finally) drifting away and the autumn leaves are starting to peek through.
Here are our favorite things to do in Georgia to enjoy the fall season:
-
Apple Picking
For a short day trip, head up to Elijay to one of the many apple picking farms. Make sure to pick up some sweet treats like apple cider, apple butter and baked goods while you’re there.
-
Hiking
A short drive north from Atlanta and you’ll get to the North Georgia mountains. State parks with nature trails and waterfalls abound. If you’re in the area, be sure to check out the waterfall at Amicalola Falls and the beautiful rock formations at Cloudland Canyon and Tallulah Gorge.
-
Seeing the Fall Foliage
Some of the best fall foliage is up in North Georgia, but if you’re in town, Piedmont Park is also a great location to see the autumn colors if you’re wanting to stay in the city. Plus, you get a gorgeous view of the skyline at the same time.
-
Fall Festivals
Atlanta is filled to the brim with festivals this time of year, a few of our favorites: Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade, Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park, Taste of Atlanta, and the Cabbagetown Chomp and Stomp.
-
Farmers Markets
What better way to shop local and support your local farmers? Plus, you get the freshest produce and a great morning of exploring with the family. Some of our favorite farmers markets in the Atlanta area are Piedmont Park Green Market, Alpharetta Farmers Market, and Peachtree Road Farmers Market.
