Finding the right fit was frustrating, old styles are not sized as the new sandal styles are. I LOVE the Magna-Sandal in M, but it's not made anymore.
I'm a W's Nike 8 with plenty of toe room. I was looking for easy to slip-on shoes that are durable to disinfect. And wide enough to wear my Smartwool Hiking socks with inside in the winter. And then wear them sans socks in the garden the rest of the year.
I LOVE the deep heel cup these have, how it cradles my heels, keeps my heel from moving about as the other Okabashi sandals allow! And the wide coverage of the Milan's straps hold the sandal on my foot better.
I did notice that the Milans have a hollowed out bottom sole. When wet the soles make a vacuum, sticking slightly to a smooth floor and make smacking, sucking sounds. I wonder how easy it will be to get garden soil out of the bottoms? But they are very comphy for me, although to me, they look like duck feet! But what do I care!:) I'm into COMFORT!!!
I ordered 4 more pairs!

This sandal splits out at the v-notch of the simulated cross-over area. My men keep asking for them for fit but they lack durability. We have worn Okabashi for years but this style disappoints by splitting out after too little wear. Perhaps they work better for men with little to no arch to their feet.

These are Great

The men's Milan model of slip-on shoes are comfortable and do not go flying off your feet. They fit so well and still stay on. The only detail is that your feet can become a bit warm: some of you will love that, but my feet are usually plenty warm. The best of recycling and done here in America. Can you get better than that? A fun thing is that the heel print resembles the hoof print of a mule's shoe. If the mule shoe is a stealth message, sell many more in New York City.

Milan style

I am particular about my footwear because I developed plantar fasciitis due to poor fitting/supporting footwear. I replaced all my footwear with items that had excellent arch support & bought Spenco orthotics for my slippers. That solved my plantar fasciitis in ~6 months, though I must always have good arch support so no barefeet for me or I will feel the "discomfoot" that tells me the plantar fasciitis could come back. Slides are ideal for quick use inside & casual outside use. This brand, in the Milan model, work fantastically for me. They fit my foot perfectly, with & without socks on, & I don't notice their weight at all. The shape of the footbed allows your foot to "bed" itself more than in the Glide model where your foot feels like it is in the sandal though not bedded. I could go up a size in the Glide model though I don't believe it would provide a better fit, just a looser fit.

I have nearly every style of Okabashi that they make but this style, the Milan, although I'm not crazy about the style, are by far the most comfortable of all, you will not be disappointed

Best Sandal for the beach

By

Andy has wide feet and for whatever reason simple cannot wear thong sandals. He has bought SO Many & has always left them at the hotel!
It really became a joke, (cuz some were really nice & expensive).
I bought him these & he LOVES THEM! We just returned from Cayman Islands and surf would come up & wash over our shoes, which luckily were both Okabashi's. ~ wash & go, & super comfortable. As an eco home designer, I am all about 'up-cycling', & your products are a fav!
Recommended to friends/ clients & if you have Andy bringing them home ~ that's a huge endorsement! Thanks & keep up the great work.

I'm on my 2nd pair in 3 years... these things are great, comfortable, stylish, affordable and best of all they are made in the USA by a socially & environmentally responsible company! It doesn't get much better than this... thanks Okabashi... for your products and the example your set as and ethical modern American business. Keep up the good work!

I like to wear these with nice pants and a nice shirt. Most people think they are some expensive shoe. The look is very nice. The foot bed is thick and comfy as well as good arch support. Very comfy nice looking sandals! Love the great service from Okabashi! I now own five pairs and gave two away! Spread the word and BUY AMERICAN!

Suction Sound On Bottom…

By

As much as my husband loves the sandal, I can always find him in a store because his sandal makes a suction cup sound as he walks...it's pretty funny (he doesn't think so). Other than the sound it makes, he likes the sandal...

Very comfy

These are my new go to sandals for the summer. They are very comfortable and feel like they are good for my feet. Additionally, they are a bit dressier for going out in the evening when at the beach or a relaxed atmosphere.

My only small complaint is when walking on a tile floor or smooth surface the heel tends to suction to the floor. The results are the sandals making a popping noise or at time completely suctioning to the floor to the point of making my step awkward. I have learned to adapt my gate/step a bit to decrease the odds of them suctioning to the floor.

Overall, very happy.

Very Comfortable, slight annoyance.

By

I have very wide feet (11EEEE), have had issues with plantar fasciitis, and was looking for a new pair of sandals to replace an old pair of Rockports that were eaten by a dog.

I stumbled across the Okabashi website after what seemed like an endless search for wide sandals, and the reviews looked good. I ended up purchasing my sandals through Amazon (prime member) rather than direct from Okabashi since I only wanted one pair to try and didn't want to pay shipping.

When I first tried the sandals on I was apprehensive. The fit was tight, but after wearing for a few minutes the straps started to loosen up a bit. I like the feel of the arch support and the massage bumps. I'd have to say that when wearing them my feet don't hurt at all, which I can rarely say.

One slight annoyance I discovered soon after was the "Suction Cup" action of the sandal on smooth floors. I fixed this by drilling tiny holes across the heelbed cups.

I will be ordering more!
