Since 1984, Okabashi Brands has been a family owned and operated shoe company in the small town of Buford, Georgia.
Our shoes have garnered a loyal following with over 35 million pairs of shoes sold. Today, over 99% of American-worn footwear is made abroad. We are proud to be in the 1% that has chosen to stay and thrive in the USA.
Our line of flip flops and sandals is focused on foot health and wellness. We believe that support and comfort are key to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Our name is inspired by the Japanese concept of wellness.
Our original shoe designs were created using principles of reflexology. The theory behind reflexology is that each area of the foot corresponds to different organs and systems of the body. Applying pressure to key areas of the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.
Our approach of designing shoes that promote foot health and comfort carries on today.
We take pride in making each Okabashi sandal a source of comfort and happiness. Our shoes with active arch support, massage beads, and two year guarantee, have garnered a loyal fan base.
We stand for quality with a two year manufacturer guarantee.
Approximately 3 billion pairs of petroleum-based flip flops are manufactured each year globally. Flip flops also make up roughly 25% of ocean plastic pollution. Make sure YOURS are recyclable - ours are.
As a family owned company, we value stewardship and care for the environment.
Our proprietary material is made in the USA and is 100% recyclable (plastic symbol #3). Our bio-based material contains 45% soy by weight and is BPA, latex, rubber, and phthalate-free.
Each pair of Okabashi sandals are made of approximately 25% recycled materials from our own closed-loop manufacturing process.
We invite our customers to send back their well loved and worn Okabashi shoes for recycling, and receive 15% off their next purchase.
We believe in sharing love with others. We have donated thousands of pairs of shoes to first responders and to those in need.
For over 10 years, we have partnered with a local non-profit organization called Soles4Souls to give over 8,000 pairs of shoes to our communities.
With Soles4Souls, our shoes will go to survivors of natural disasters and micro-entrepreneurs in the developing world who looking to escape poverty. They will have a good home and bring someone much joy, while keeping them from going to waste!
